Happy Halloween!!!

So last year Trent and I had a pretty uneventful Halloween. We didn't get costumes or go out. I'm pretty sure it involved Trent, Paige and I indulging in some Graham Canyon Creamery Ice Cream and watching a not so scary movie. This year was a little different. We ended up going to a Halloween party one of our friends threw so it was a great time. We also were lucky enough to have Skyler and Kaitlin and new baby Caleb in town to hang out with a little bit!

A fun night at Trafalga
A cute little bear
Trent and I were Peter Pan and Captain Hook. We were pretty excited to find this wig for Trent

Here we are with Katlin and Skyler before they left to drive home to AZ and they were nice enough to let us see Caleb in his cute horse costume

Also just wanted to also wish everyone a Happy Nevada Day! I miss Las Vegas and wish Trent would let me move back some day but regardless it will always be home!!

Also a little shout out to my family who went to Disneyland this weekend without me. After the hundreds (literally, probably hundreds) of times my mom has ridden Splash Mountain, she never fails to give a great reaction for the camera. I just wanted to share how awesome she is with everyone. This picture made me laugh when my dad sent it to me.

P.S. Is it bad that I currently have Christmas music playing? Too soon?

Witchcraft

So I quickly learned that the Romney's are a very crafty family. This is a craft I started while in Arizona but didn't get to finish due to time restraints so I just wanted to showcase the final product. Not too shabby huh?

Summer of 2010

I am amazed at people who can blog about their lives on a consistent basis. I will have to try to develop that skill in the future. I am a little bit of a hypocrite. I seriously blog stalk all the time!!! When our regular blogs haven't posted in awhile we start to get a little frustrated. So here is my attempt to entertain if anybody else feels this way and we are a regular on their list.

Our lives this summer were jam packed with school and work. It was hard to wake up to a perfect summer day outside and not be able to enjoy it because I was in school all day. It is also a little pathetic that I didn't go swimming until the end of August!!! Man my summers sure have changed from my high school days. I was swimming with my friends on a weekly basis and I was so concerned about my tan back then that I would go tanning outside daily. But nonetheless it was a fantastic summer! We were both in school full time and we did better than I would have thought given the summer syndrome. I am in my second semester now in dental hygiene school and it has been really fun! I started seeing patients last week so if anyone is interested and you can spare 3 hours of your day come hang out with me for only $10. Trent is only 3 semesters away from graduating and we are so excited! He is unfortunately taking all of his hard classes in the next 2 so it will be a tough 8 months but will be worth it in the end.

This summer we were lucky enough to finally go on a honeymoon. Our destination of choice was New York City!!! Trent had never been so it was the perfect opportunity! I will just show you in pictures how awesome it was!!
Best Chocolate Restaurant Ever!!

Little Natalie is so adorable! She is such a little chubsters
Looking out at the Statue of Liberty
This is us at the top of the Empire State Building. We decided to go at night to see all the lights which was a pretty cool experience.
Of Course we had to go to a Mets game.
Unfortunately the temple was closed but here is a shot from the outside.
Trent and Caleb became best buds on the trip. I'm pretty sure Caleb thinks Trent is the coolest thing ever. We met up with them for dinner one night and I went to sit next to Caleb and he told me I was sitting in Trent's seat so I had to move. haha Where is the loyalty?
The Natural History Museum
Trent's first time seeing Wicked!!
The Met

The Brooklyn Bridge

We went to the Yankees game as well. There was a rain delay for about an hour so it lasted FOREVER! We were fortunately under a covered area so it didn't bother us.

That pretty much wraps it up. It was such a memorable week and we are glad we went!

It's been awhile

Well Trent and I have had quite the last couple of months. Sadly I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I should have so it won't be a very picture-filled post, sorry.

I started my dental hygiene program in May and I love it so far!! It's so interesting to me so I love going to school everyday. It feels nice to be on the direct path to what I want to do. I'm 2 months in so only 18 more months until I will get paid to do it instead of pay people to let me do it haha. We've just been learning the basics so far. It has come to my knowledge that I will be giving numbing shots to people, so that has me pretty worried. I don't think my dental hygienist ever did that so I assumed it wasn't up my alley. Hopefully those Robison genes will show up and I'll learn to be great at numbing people's mouths.

I've also recently started a new job at Sammy's Cafe. It's been really fun so far! I don't think I've enjoyed a job as much as this one. There is always something fun going on and new people coming in so there's never a dull moment. I won't lie, the Pie Shakes there are amazing!

As for Trent, he just started summer term at BYU and is looking forward to finishing Physics off. It will be tough but I think he's up for the challenge. He also just finished up in a Provo City Softball League. His team ended up doing pretty well. At the beginning of the season they crushed all the competition. Then as the season went on they lost a few but still ended strong. They have their tournament this weekend so we're hoping they bring their A-game.

Trent has also just started a new job. He is back at Mr. Network making outbound calls. I applaud him for going back there. When we worked there last summer we both made pretty good money, but the job is just so repetitive. It's hard to be motivated to go to that job but he has kept a positive attitude about it so far. I'm happy he is taking the time to work this summer while his schedule is going to be crazy with school.

As for the both of us.... we just joined a coed softball team so that'll keep us entertained for the summer. It should be fun because it's with friends we don't see too often anymore. Trent went and bought me a new glove for this occasion so it's a pretty big deal.

I also want to give a shout out to my Grandpa Rueckert. He just turned 80 years old on June 13 and still is one of the sharpest people I've ever met. We went to his party at their clubhouse and we learned a lot about him we didn't know. I had no idea how athletic he was back in the day. I guess back in the 40s/50s there was a Church wide basketball tournament that was a huge deal. There were teams from all over the country that
came solely for this tournament. So my Grandpa was 1 of 5 guys chosen to be on the top team in the whole tournament so he was amazing! It was fun listening to him tell us about it because he still remembers the scores of all the games he played in! I don't even remember what Trent's softball teams score was last week. We learned a lot more about him too but I thought that was pretty fun.

So for the biggest and best news of all.... I fulfilled a childhood dream and saw the Backstreet Boys in concert. It was seriously one of my favorite concerts! It was so much fun! I went with my friends Paige, Courtney and Brooke. We were lucky enough to get tickets on the 9th row!! We were literally 20 feet from the stage. Those were the best tickets I've ever had to a concert. It was fun to live out my elementary dream. I never thought I'd be that close to Nick Carter haha. I still felt like they were huge big time celebrities. Definitely worth spending the whole evening going to Salt Lake for.
Here is a little video too

So that's all for now. We're excited its summer time and we're going to be visiting everyone in the family soon!! Even my sister Niki and her family in New York!!!

Change

Trent and I were finally getting well adjusted to life and now the people we spend the most time with are all moving! Its pretty sad. My sister Melissa moved out of Provo last week after about 8 years of living here. She is currently in Thailand for a few weeks and will then be moving to Mesa to go to Physician Assistant school at AT Still. I'm excited she's at least moving somewhere we will visit somewhat often so I will still see her but its still pretty sad. Then to add more on top of that, Becky and Ryan are moving to Colorado this weekend!! We're pretty bummed about that because we love seeing our little nieces all the time. Lexie will definitely not like us now because we will go so long without seeing her. So in conclusion we are pretty sad that our siblings decided to bail on us within a week of each other... too much change at once.

Finally Legal!

Well I am officially 21 years old!! Ironically it was the first birthday I have spent away from Las Vegas that I can remember. I'm finally aloud to pull a slot machine (legally) and I wasn't even around to do it. Oh well... next time we're in town Trent and I will have to make a trip to the local grocery store or gas station to suffice my desires. Isn't that slightly ridiculous that there are slot machines all over the place? My parents house is probably walking distance from 30 different ones. I have come to realize that my hometown is really quite different than many places.

We had an eventful weekend with lots of play time. On Saturday morning, Paige and I went and ran in a 5k. This was the first race both of us have competed in and it was so fun!! I could see that becoming a thing I could get into in the future. It was such a perfect morning too. It felt great outside which was a definite plus. About 5 minutes after we finished it started to snow very lightly. About an hour later it was a BLIZZARD!!! We were very grateful that we were done. Later that afternoon Trent and I went up to Becky and Ryan's house for a weekend full of RISK. This game causes quite a bit of tension every time we play together. I will admit, the first game I did start to cry a little bit, but it turned out ok because nobody wanted to kill my players and make me cry again. Thank you emotions. Other than that it was a great time hanging out up there.

So I had quite the eventful birthday... First thing in the morning (1am) Trent woke up to a loud noise. He thought it was the dryer so he got up to turn that off. Then he walked into our front room and saw a huge light coming in through the window. We then noticed a huge firetruck right in front of our apartment!!!! For those who have been to our apartment, you would probably agree that it is in a slightly ghetto area of town. So this firetruck kinda freaked us out a little bit. After talking about the possibilities about what it could be for a solid 10 min, we decided to go outside and ask the firemen. Don't worry, there was an ignitable substance all over a house in front of our apartment. It is quite possible someone wanted to blow the house up. Awesome. We really do live in the slums and that solidified it for me.

So we go back to bed and I luckily didn't have work so it was a relaxing day. Trent did however still have to go to school. So I was home alone and then there was a knock at the door... hmm kinda weird cuz we don't normally have people come over during the day. I look out the peephole and see a guy with a huge farmers hat on. I was on the phone with my sister Niki so I figured if he were to kidnap me, she would know and call the cops. So I wearily opened the door. The guy hands me an invitation to a meeting for his church. Yes I did indeed have my first encounter with a Jehovah's Witness. This may not seem like a big deal to many, but I thought it was crazy. A Jehovah's Witness in Provo, UT? Good luck buddy! So that sums up my weird day. Probably not too weird but our lives are normally much more boring so it brought in a little bit of a variety.

Other than all of that craziness, I had a great birthday because of a great husband!! He made me breakfast in the morning, then left school early and we went shopping! We went to Costco and Trent bought a TENT! So it was like a birthday for both of us. Later that night we went to Tepanyaki with Melissa and Becky and Ryan. Then went home and watched Oklahoma. Yes the musical made many many years ago. It was awesome!

New Married Life

Well here we are, 2 months of being married and it's been quite the experience! It has been so great being together all the time and having our own place with all of our own stuff and not having to share with roommates anymore! (Which definitely is bittersweet because I miss Paige's closet a lot!) In the last 2 months we've been able to do some really fun things. First off, we got MARRIED on January 2 in the Las Vegas Temple! I now understand what people mean when they say it was kind of a blur of a day. It went by wayyy too fast and I hardly remember anything about the reception so I am relying on my pictures to give me those memories. It was such a great time though! It was so nice to have all of our family come down for the occasion! I had almost my entire extended family there and Trent's immediate family all traveled out for it so it was quite the party.
The week after that we had our open house in AZ. Leaving Utah in the middle of one of the coldest weeks was such a relief when we landed in 70 degree Mesa. I think it was that weekend that I told Trent that we can move back there someday and I'd stopped fighting it. Our open house was so beautiful and so much fun! The food was to die for too! All in all I think our wedding was awesome and it couldn't have gone better.
After the open house we headed back to Utah to start real life. Trent is going to school full-time and it sooo busy this semester trying to keep up with his classes. While he is going to school, I am working full-time at a law office to make us some money before I start Dental Hygiene school in May. It's been a nice break from school this semester but I am ready to get back to it. It's been weird not having school to worry about. It's just a different feeling not worrying about the next test and the paper due next week and whatnot. I didn't think I'd miss school but I'm having slight withdrawals from it. I am enjoying working but since it's not what I want to do for the rest of my life I feel like I'm walking in circles a little bit. So May couldn't come soon enough! Only two more months!
In our spare time, we have spent some nice quality time with Becky and Ryan. Recently our purpose for going up there is for our Bachelor parties. Becky and I love it and Trent and Ryan I think do too but they pretend they don't by making fun of it a bit. But, they are still there watching every time. Aside from that, I have recently become slightly addicted to LOST. I started watching the first season in December and I'm about halfway through the series. I think I'll time it perfectly so I finish the 5th season right around the time the 6th and final season ends and I will then just watch it all the way through to the end without week breaks in the middle. I don't know how people handle that. I feel like I can't go a 2 days without watching it. It is very addicting.
This last week we also decided to take a little road trip down to California with my family to go to Disneyland!!! Trent hadn't been in almost 10 years so it was so fun! It was his first time going to California Adventure and he loved it! I don't know how he missed out on the happiest place on earth for that long! It was really fun though because my Grandparents came and so did 2 of my dad's brothers and their families. My Grandma Robison is such a trooper. She went on every roller coaster she could. My Grandpa thought for a second she was going to die because she was going on so many. It was so funny. She also got us in through the exit so we were able to walk onto a bunch of rides without the long lines. Also on our trip, I also was able to introduce Trent to Hula Pie! It is my all-time favorite dessert and I rarely have the opportunity to get it. The restaurant Dukes (where it is made) is only on the beach. So they are only in Hawaii or California basically. It was quite the treat.
So that is the lowdown on our lives these days. We have been having so much fun and can't wait for more fun times to come!
